Dear Editor

In the language class the teacher told us to writte a letter responding to an editor about crimes, taking into account the following:

Whose responsibility is it to protect crime? Write a letter to the editor explaining your views, give specific examples of what the police can do to protect themselves and their neighbours.

-Start your letter "Dear Editor"
- Follow the plan on page 93
- Use "Useful expressions":
- Introductory comments (1)
- Agreeing (3)
- Explaining your view (2)
- Clarifying (2)

Here is my letter:

Dear Editor,

I read your article about the crimes going on around Rivertown, and I am really worried too. I am a resident of Broadchurch, which is pretty near Rivertown.

I fully agree with the police warning people to be careful, especially at night. People should, for example, have alarms and ralings installed, avoid taking garbage at night, and avoid talking to strangers.

I fully support all the advice. However, police should also take care, not only people; they should too. Therefore, they should patrol streets, on foot and by car, install cameras and respond quickly to crimes because sometimes, for this reason, time runs out. Also, I think policeman should get more training, that is to say, be really physically fit.

So, there are some things to work and put lots of attention on, related to people and to the police. In other words, people must be more alert and police faster. I tottaly think that if all this issues are solved, people will soon live better and safer.

Sincerely,
             Vicky.
