In the language class, we were asked to make a story using this prompt sentence: " Mark could't believe his luck". We also had to include:
5 Connectors
3 Sequence Markers
2 Examples of Direct Speech
Here is my Story:
Mark couldn't believe his luck, his dream came true, he finally got into the American Football League. After he received the letter, he immediately called his best friend, Lucas, and told him:
- "Can you believe it?"
- "Believe what ?" Lucas asked
- "I got into the Leagues!' He exclaimed
- "Really? You're awesome my friend! Are you free this afternoon?"
- "Yes!"
- "Well, then I will visit you around 4 pm"
- "Ok, I'll be waiting for you"
Therefore, Mark went to his room so as to prepare his suitcase, as the next day he was going to visit the place were the team trained. He was notably happy, eventhough he would have to leave his friends and family, he looked forward to becoming a football star.
At 4 pm Lucas arrived. They talked for a long time, especially about how long they won't see each other. That was undetermined, they would definetly miss each other.

Literary Essay: "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"
In the subject Language Through Literature Writing, we studied how to write a Literary Essay, to write we should write about the themes, tones, etc from the story "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", which we read it in the subject Literature. To write it we had to write it between 350-400 words. This is my work:

Literary Essay: "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"
"The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", written by Robert Louis Stevenson, tells the story of a man called Henry Jekyll, who is interested in the duality of human nature, and creates a potion which reveals his dark side, which finally kills him. The themes of this story, Violence, The Duality of Human Nature and The Importance of Reputation will be analysed in this Essay.
The story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde has powerful violence scenes. In each situation Mr. Hyde is guilty and te victim is an inoscent person. For example when Mr. Hyde hurts the young girl and later on he hits Mr. Carew to death. Hyde´s final victims are both, himself ans Jekyll, in the moment he commits suicide. In this case neither victim is inoscent, clearly Dr. Jekyll is guilty because he is the one who creates Hyde and lets him free. For example, in the story says "And then came the horrible part of the thing; for the man trampled calmly over the child´s body and left her screaming on the ground", this explains the violence that the story has.
In the theme duality of human nature Jekyll says that "Man is not truly one, but truly two" and he imagines the human soul has an "Angel" and a "Devil" side. In the story his good side is dominant, but along the story his dark side gains power. This dark side, Hyde, is described like an animal so as to show man´s essential nature.
The last theme of analysis is The Importance of Reputation. Utterson and Enfield avoid gossip at all cost for example when Utterson suspects Jekyll first of on black mailed and then of sheltering Hyde from police, he did not sys nothing because he is Jekyll´s frind and because of Jekyll´s reputation. The Importance of Reputation in the novel also reflects the importance of appearances, and surfaces. In many instances of the novel Utterson wishes to preserve Jekyll´s reputation but also Enfield wants to preserve Hyde's by, after telling the incident of the window to Utterson, saying this: "Here is another lesson to say nothing. I am ashamed of my long tounge. Let us make a bargain never to refer to this again"
The story has very interesting and catching themes which make the reader continue reading it. I think it is very well written with a formal language used in Victorian Times. It describes in detail every aspect or characteristics about the characters, situations or places so you can imagine it.

News Report
In Em/History writing, we studied how to write a News Report and it's characteristics. Then we had to write one, here is my News Report:
Horse saved by vet
A veterinarian was given the title of "Saver of nature" after he saved a life risking his. Many people attended the act to congratulate him and give him big applauses.
It was last week when a horse was found inside a hole in a field. He was laying on the floor, he wasn't able to stand up. The horse might have fallen there while walking around. The hole was really deep for the horse to get out of it without any help.
When everyone realized the magnitude of the problem, they asked fire-fighters to help them and they also called a vet. To bring the horse out of the hole, they had to use a harness, so the vet, with lot of passion and courage, entered the hole and put the harness to the poor horse. After that, the fire-fighters started taking the horse out and then they took out George, the veterinarian.
The mission was accomplished. The horse was rescued, with a broken leg, but safe and alive. The whole community was proud of George and the horse. The passion he has for his job and for animals, made him put his life at risk to save the horse's. Everyone is pleased with him and they think that George is an incredible man.
Africa, a passion story
In L/L Writing we were studying Short Stories. After reading and learning about it's characteristics, as a final task, we had to write our own Short story, including in the end the phrase "And that was the last time she/he/I ever so them". Here is my story:
Since I was little, I wanted to help animals, nature, and so I created my own foundation. When I heard that Africa Lions Organization needed help to grow up two baby white lions, I e-mailed them:
To: Africa Lions Organization
From: Sarah@WildRoar.com
My name is Sarah, I am 30 years old. I am the founder andl director of the foundation called "Wild Roar" in which we take care of abandoned or orphan wild animals. I offfer my service to travel from United States to Africa and help the two orphan baby white lions. I hope I can help, for more information you can visit our website www.wildroarfoundation.com or e-mail us: help@wildroar.com
Thank you.
Two weeks later, I received their feedback. They had chosen me to take care of the babies:
To: Sarah@WildRoar.com
From: Africa Lions Organization
We accept your offer. We have investigated your work and we think you are the adequate person with a lot of experience and passion. You will be in Africa for three years, we will use two years to grow them up and one to let them free and follow their progress. Today is October 3rd 2014, we expect you are here by October 15.
Thank you for offering to save two amazing lives.
I immediatey started looking for plane tickets, once I found them, I bought them. Then I started preparing my suitcase. By October 15th I was at the hotel in Africa, getting ready to visit the foundation.
When I arrived at the foundation it looked fantastic, it was gorgeous, spacious. It was perfect; it had the perfect habitats for the animals. So I put hands on work. They presented me the babies, now, I was their new mother.
They were a male and a female, Simba and Lucy. They were so charming, so lovely, thay adored playing. My routine had started. Every day I went there, I interacted and took care of them. I fed them, gave them baths, played with them.
Time passed by, my babies rew. In six months they grew a lot, they turned into adolescets, but anyway they continued being so adorable and they continued playing. Their fur changed, and Simba's male fur started growing around his neck. Then, when they were one year old, they were young adults, ready to start socializing with other lions and to start knowing better their habitat.
Time continued passing really quickly and my babies started to get more independent. They started to spend more time with other lions and in their habitat, once they were two years old. It was time to let them free, it was time for them to fend by themselves. It was October 5th 2016, we decided we would let them free by October 17th. But first we put them a special necklace from which we could locate them to follow their progress for one entire year. Then my job would be done.
The day arrived, we put our babies into two separate cages. The we arrived at the Savanna. We put the cages on the floor. We moved to a place where they couldn't see us so that they didn't want to come with us, and using a special system, we opened the two cages. Some minutes passed in which they went out of the cages and walked around; but then they finally walked together far and far away starting a new life. I started crying, I was so happy, my babies didn't need me anymore, they were adults, so charming like the first time I saw them. When they were practically disappearing into deep grass, they turned around and looked at us like saying good bye. Then, they continued walking.
My work had finished, my mission was accomplished. After following their progress I returned back to the United States. I continued with my life and my foundation.
That was the last time I ever so them.

Elysium!
In EM/History Writing we were studying how to write a Summary and a Review. So we first had to choose a movie, write a summary about it and then write the review of it.
Here they are:
Elysium is an amazing story directed by Neil Blomkamp which takes place in the earth and in another world called Elysium. It is about a man, Max, who wants to travel to Elysium.
Everything begins with Max as a child who promises his "girlfriend" that someday they will go to Elysium. But then, when they are adults, they are no longer together. They have their own lives. The problem begins when Max receives a strong level of radiation and is told that he will only live five days. After having learnt that, he tries to go to Elysium to find a cure.
The movie has romantic and violent moments. You will experience different feelings. There are also some moving moments that will touch your heart.
I sincerely recommend this movie, especially to science fiction fans. It is unreal and real at the same time, because it reflects how the earth will probably be in the future. You will really enjoy it!
Here they are:
Summary:
The story takes place in the year 2.154. It's about a little boy, Max, who wanted to travel to Elysium. Elysium was a new planet in which rich people lived. It was created because the earth was full of illneses and poverty and it was falling down. Everyone wanted to live up there because Elysium had special machines that could cure all the illnesses. So, in the movie Max tried to go there overcoming different and difficult obstacles. In the end, Max travelled to Elysium and gave everybody free access to Elysium. Unfortunately, he died after having done that.

Drama Monologue
In Drama I was asked to create a character and give her a voice so I wrote a Monologue:
My past was really hard, my father ordered me to study everyday, he thought studying was more important than being with friends. Nobody was there for me...my father didn't understand me and my mother...she wasn't there.
After I turned into a mermaid my life changed completely. Now I'm a happy girl. But one day I realized it wasn't always like that. It was when I saw a baby dolphin, he was trying to escape, just like me, but from a shark. Immediately I went near him to do whatever I could to save him, I even tried to call him and make him come with me so that we could escape together; but it was too late. I had no words, I felt distressed, disappointed, and sad, I couldn't understand how nature let that happen. Why? Why?. Maybe the question was why not. I felt so sorry; maybe I could just swim faster and save his life. I finally understood I wasn't prepared for this new life, the good and bad situations can always reach you, no matter where you are, even if you live in the sea.
Life as a mermaid is amazing. I feel free, loved and glad of the enchanting environment in which I live. Little by little I will have to get used to what I'm and to what can happen.
This is me delivering the monologue:

Diary Entry "The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde"
In Language
Through Literature Writing we read the book “The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde”. Then we studied how to write a Diary Entry. After making some
activities, we made the Final Task, in which we had to imagine we were Henry
Jekyll the first time he invented the potion and then the moment in which he
drinks the potion for the first time, writing two Diary Entries with different
dates and between 170-230 words. Here are my Diary Entries:
August 18,
1886
Today I’m
thinking about changes, personalities, the dark and good sides of people.
I’m
thinking about what it would be like if I could shoe my two sides, my two
personalities, as two different people. Each person with their appropriate
characteristics, I mean the dark with a horrifying aspect and actions. How can
I do that? How can I turn myself? Maybe a potion! A potion to turn into a horrifying
man and another to turn again into the good man I am. People shouldn’t know
about this, nobody will know about my invention. I will have to hide my dark
side. As I won’t be seen easily ate night, during the day I will be Dr. Jekyll
and during night I will drink the potion and become…mmm…Mr. Hyde. To make the
potion I will need strong drugs, some tincture, and a large quantity of a
particular salt. I think that will be strong enough for an obscure identity. I
will prepare it. First I will put all the elements together on a recipient…
ready! Now I will watch them boil and smoke together.
I hope
everything goes as planned. It will be an interesting and crazy experience. I’m
very nervous, anxious and a little bit afraid.
Bye bye,
Henry
Jekyll
August 20,
1886
I took one
entire day thinking about how much this will affect my life. The potion is
ready, it will be very hard to drink it.
The final
result of the potion is disgusting, it has a dark violet colour. Well, it’s
time, come on Jekyll you can drink it, take a strong glow of courage. One, two,
three! Oh, oh, I’m feeling terrible, my bones hurt, I have nausea, I have new,
incredible sensations. I feel younger, I feel free, I really like this. I will
look in the mirror. Oh, I’m shorter, I’m ugly! My appearance is terrifying. My
body wants to do whatever, even kill someone. I’m a dark, cruel person. This
potion makes me feel alive. Mr. Hyde is an evil man with evil thoughts and
reactions. People will be horrified if they see me, so I better be careful.
I enjoy the
freedom that I now have, nobody can stop me. It’s me and myself. I will go out,
I hope I don’t hurt anyone.
Goodnight,
Edward Hyde
