Ethical Shopping Summary

In Em/History Writing we read a text about "Ethical Shopping" and then we had to write a summary about it. Here it's my summary:

Ethical shopping

Many people in Britain want to know more about what they buy. There is some information we can find out about how animals, people, and our planet are treated when food is produced.

When talking about workers and farmers there is a Fairtrade Foundation, which is an organization that helps them to earn enough money to live comfortably. The organization asks companies to give a good salary and good working conditions. Speaking about concerning food, there is a free range farming that means that farm animals spend more time outside instead of being inside all day long. This is better because it is less cruel and animals are healthier.

As regards food, there is also organic food; which is produced using a few or no chemical products. These two types of food are more expensive, but also popular.
When buying clothes, it is stated in the text that many people are interested in recycling old clothes. Old clothes used to be called “second-hand", nowadays we call them “vintage”. Many people recycle by buying used clothes. Clothes manufactures are helping to make fashion a safer business and to keep people informed.

With the help of organizations, people in the UK can make different choices with the products they buy.
